After 12 years of service, Val Unsworth, co-founder of Caring Matters Now, is stepping down from her role as Chair of Trustees. After an impressive tenure, Val will be handing over the reins to Tracy Traverse Burley, who has been appointed by the Board as the new Chair of Trustees.
Val Unsworth has served as the Chair of Trustees for 12 years, providing steadfast leadership and commitment to Caring Matters Now. Her tenure has seen significant milestones, including the development of the charity’s Support Pathway, successful delivery of the HOW DO YOU C ME NOW? Exhibition awareness campaign, the establishment of our sister charity, Caring Matters Now Ireland and the huge breakthrough in developing an effective treatment for CMN. Val’s dedication and tireless work has helped propel the organisation forward. We are delighted Val will continue as a charity trustee for the foreseeable future as her contributions will continue to be greatly valued.

Tracy Traverse Burley, who will take over as Chair of Trustees, brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of Caring Matters Now’s mission. Tracy has a daughter affected by CMN and has been a valued member of the Board of Trustees for 4 years and has played a strategic role in developing a sustainable operational structure in line with the charity growth experienced. Her leadership, vision, and expertise will be vital in driving the organisation forward into the next chapter.
