Street comes together for CMN

Frankie and Mark’s daughter Sofia was born with CMN. They have been active members of Caring Matters Now, with Frankie fulfilling the role of Support contact for our North West Region and the whole family have been getting stuck in to both raising awareness and raising funds.

Last year their whole street came together to support the Melia family by hosting a street party. This was an amazing opportunity for them to raise funds as well as being able to tell everyone who attended about CMN and what the charity means to them as a family.

Frankie said; “Last Spring, our friends held a street party on their road and collected donations for Caring Matters Now. My husband Mark and his friend Dom play in a band together, so they did a performance and the whole street also got involved in a game of Bingo! There were little stalls selling sweets/drinks/etc- all set up by the children in the road. There was a lovely atmosphere and it was a great day all round, and we would like to thank all the residents involved for their donations- they were very kind and generous. Given that there maybe some street parties set up this year for the Queen’s Jubilee, it might be an idea that other members want to do too to help fundraise for the charity.”

We are so grateful to everyone who organised and attended the event. If you would be interested in doing something similar or getting involved with fundraising for Caring Matters Now, please get in touch with Rachel by emailing fundraise@caringmattersnow.co.uk or click here to find out more.
