British Dermatological Nursing Group (BDNG) Conference

Our volunteers Helen and Rebecca attended the BDNG conference in Harrogate for the second year in a row. Again, this year, the BDNG conference gave great opportunity for many meaningful conversations and networking with medical professionals!

Our volunteers met new and familiar faces, meeting with one of our charity partners, Phyllida Swift, CEO of Face Equality International (FEI) as well as with some of our key contacts within the BNDG.

Attending the BDNG conference has opened several doors for us as a charity in the last year to raise the profile of CMN. We have recorded a podcast with BDNG, been featured in their annual magazine, which is issued to thousands of nurses, met Jodie Newman (Specialist Dermatology Nurse) and made a key contact in Scotland where we hope to continue to raise awareness!

Helen says, “As an adult with CMN, I really enjoyed representing Caring Matters Now at the BDNG conference again, it is always a pleasure to connect with professionals from the dermatology community and to raise awareness about the important work of the charity and the condition.”

Rebecca concludes, “It was a privilege to represent the charity at this conference again this year and to share personal experiences and insights with the health professionals who stopped by the stand. It was encouraging to hear how more people were now aware of the condition and were keen to sign up for more information about the work of the charity and the recent research updates.  Continuing to raise awareness of both the condition and the support Caring Matters Now can offer families amongst the medical and nursing community is an important part of supporting our members to help access the best care possible.”

See you again next year!
