Last year, Maddie completed the Dale Carnegie course, Level TWO of our Young Ambassador Programme!
Level 2 of the programme offers the unique opportunity to complete the prestigious Dale Carnegie Course. Designed to equip you with the communication and human relation skills required to be successful in any setting, this world-famous programme of self-development helps the leaders of tomorrow leverage their skills so they can strengthen relationships between colleagues, solve problems, create collaborative cultures, boost morale and motivation within teams, and ultimately deliver outstanding results in any area of concentration.
As a charity, we are extremely proud of Maddie who won the ‘highest award for achievement.’ In accepting this award Maddie said, “I think people voted for me because I made the most growth and came out of my comfort zone.”
Having completed the 3-day intensive course in London last year. Maddie shared this reflection on the experience,
“We had to make some form of speech at the end of every day, so by the last day I had got a lot of practice in it and felt pretty confident!”
“Thank you, Hannah! I really enjoyed the course. I’m glad I got through that first stage where I struggled a bit.”
If I could pass on any tips for another young person completing the course in the future I would say:
- Don’t judge it too quickly- it might be difficult at the beginning but as you adapt its fun!
- Go BIG- when you see other’s do it you want to as well!
- Make friends, enjoy meeting the people you’re with and sharing this experience with- I even related to the older people more than I thought would.
