‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ fundraiser

Joshua is one of our Caring Matters Now Young Ambassadors. He wanted to raise awareness of Congenital Melanocytic Naevi (CMN) whilst also raising funds for the charity.

His school was holding a Christmas Fayre on the 30th of November 2023, so he decided to have a stall. He set to work to think of a fun theme and came up with ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!’ He started by making some props… with 6 buckets to choose from, the challenge was to put your hand into a bucket and find 3 stars amongst the surprises!

The school fayre raised a wonderful amount in total, which was split between all the fundraising stalls, meaning Caring Matters Now received a fabulous £53.72! I’m sure you will all agree what a brilliant idea this was for a fundraising theme and a fun way to get everyone involved.

Hosting this fundraiser also means that Joshua has now completed one of the 8 tasks within Level ONE of the Young Ambassadors Programme, despite having only signed up in September! In reflection, Joshua will complete a Task Review Sheet in which he will record how ‘Holding a fundraising event’ has helped him to develop skills such as, leadership, innovation, communication, teamwork, building relationships, public speaking and/or media engagement.
