Royal College of Midwives Annual Meeting
Royal College of Midwives Annual Meeting

We had an early start on the Wednesday and had to be at the stand from just after 8am. We were chatting to Midwives from about 8:15am and signing them up to our medical mail list!  We were so busy chatting that we barely had time to eat! We had to eat our lunch in odd mouthfuls whilst we kept hiding it back under the table. This was obviously very much our choice as we were enjoying the chatting and the Midwives were really friendly, engaged and seeking out knowledge.

We talked to Practicing Midwives, student Midwives and People from Universities that are involved in the Education of Midwives who wanted us as a Charity to come and talk to their students or provide written material/training resources. In addition, we chatted to stallholders and one of them told us that he ordered the HDYCMN photographic book on the Wednesday evening! All in all, we were blown away with such positive responses. People loved the Banner with the Exhibition photos on it, and I think by luck our stand was placed in a great location at the end of a walkway so it really stood out as people walked towards us. We had a number of people come to the stand and say that they loved that we were promoting body positive images. We had a lot of conversations about this too. Overall, it felt like a really worthwhile use of our time in terms of raising awareness of CMN and it was a really positive experience for us.
